Miami Botox & Xeomin Treatment
Most people throughout Miami, Beverly Hills, and across the world have heard of Botox to treat wrinkles on the forehead, crow’s feet and between the eyes. We would like to share the way Botox works and the newer but lesser known options like Xeomin that are now FDA approved.
What is Botox and How does work?
Over 11 million men and women have discovered the real and noticeable wrinkle removing results Botox gives with just a single treatment, no surgery or recovery time required. In our Miami office, Botox is the most requested skin rejuvenation procedure.
Botox Cosmetic by Allergan, is a prescription medication introduced in 2002, which is injected into the muscles, by a trained doctor, to improve the appearance of moderate to severe frown lines between the brows. This prescription botulinum toxin blocks nerve impulses to the injected muscles, reducing the muscle activity that leads to creases and folds between the brows. Approved by the FDA since 2002, the effects of Botox Cosmetic are seen within days of injection and results last for several months.
When performed by an experienced doctor, Botox is safe, convenient and effective for smoothing out lines and wrinkles. Our Medical Director and injectables specialist in Miami, Dr. Roberto Polanco, has been helping people rejuvenate their skin with Botox since it was first introduced in 2002. Botox skin rejuvenation takes about an hour to complete so you can truly be in and out fast. Patients say the procedure is painless and results can be seen within a few days after injection. We advise no pressure be put on the injected area and exercise should be avoided after the injectable.
What is Xeomin?
Xeomin made by Merz Pharmaceuticals was recently FDA approved in 2011 for the treatment of cervical dystonia or blepharospasms. Similar to the way Botox works, Xeomin blocks nerve activity in the injected muscles, reducing their activity and softening frown lines. The main difference between Botox and Xeomin is that Xeomin has no additives, leading to lower risk of developing antibodies. Antibodies form when something foreign enters the body and could cause a neurotoxin from having any effect. Other than this, all other characteristics of Xeomin are virtually the same as Botox.
Dr. Polanco and the Prestige Institute staff will give you the facts and guide you towards which treatment is best. Whether you choose Botox or Xeomin, there is no wrong choice! Both products have been studied rigorously and are FDA approved to provide the best skin rejuvenation possible. Schedule your private consultation today!
